Tank Week Continues! German Jagdpanther

A little later than I wanted but at least I'm getting it out.  Tank "week" looks like it will drag into next week at this rate...
To be perfectly honest, this kit took less time to build than this blog post is taking to write.  It was a busy last 2 days at work, but looking at a long weekend coming up so I'll have time to finish up the rest of the Armor that's laying around this place!

THis will round out some of my late war skirmish forces for my German army.  I don't need legions of these things, just one or two to round out the force and give it an edge.  Speaking of which, when I start up the figures again, I'll have to paint up another late-war German squad to protect this bad-boy on the outskirts of Berlin!

The decals come from my Point of Contact miniatures boxed set and I jerry-rigged the other "101" by cutting up a "111" and a "102" (the POC kit does not come with 2 of each...)

Enjoy the pics everyone.  British Airfix Scimitar coming up next!  Huzzah!
Awesome looking tank, made more awesome by the short assembly time.

This tank kind of deserves stowage, and men to crew it but then, it's for wargaming and not dioramas!

If I had a bottle of the muddy pigment stuff I'd have used it on the tracks.

Remember the Panzerblitz Box???

    1. Leif,
The only thing that would make that picture cooler is if I had the OTHER Jagdpanther behind it, just like on the box.

    1. Thanks, Sean. I agree - I am probably not going to add anything to it.

  3. There is something about the Jagdpanther that lends elegance and tone to what would otherwise be a vulgar brawl, don't you reckon?. I have four, I think. The three Matchbox ones I bought way back in 1977 are still among my favorite AFVs.

    1. Couldn't agree more! The JP is one "sexy" AFV that's for sure. I can see why it's a fav. This will look brilliant on the tabletop too!

  4. This, as well as the M-48, does look quite nice! I have done several Armorfast kits in the past and have never had trouble.
It would be great if they went modern, just a thought though...

    1. Ben,
Thanks! I was very pleased with the M48. It's going to be super important for my Hameln, Germany WWIII Bridge assault. My Brits and West Germans fighting it out with the Soviet Airborne for control of the Thiewall Bridge in Hameln. Can't wait!
