Ambitious, Diabolical Plans Part III Updated!

2 more games scratched off the list!  I'm on a roll lately.

Axis & Allies Naval Battle - South Pacific

Battlegroup Modern Game: Attack / Counterattack

Volley & Bayonet: Teugen-Hausen

Sails of Glory (just got this in the mail!)

A large "Black Powder" game in the AWI (most likely Freeman's Farm again this year w/pictures)

"The Big Push" Eastern Front German attack into prepared Soviet defenses using Grant's BATTLE rules and my own sequence of play.

A western front battle in late summer of 1944 using my 15mm WW2 GIs and new SS Germans.  Grant's BATTLE rules again.

Large "Bolt Action" eastern front battle 15mm

My first Warhammer 40k battle in 15mm

My very first game of Warhammer Fantasy...ever.

strike one off the list!  Next game?  Anyone's guess!  That said, I'm painting up more of my 15mm AWI guys for Freeman's Farm and Hubbardton using Black Powder, and basing even more troops for 15mm Bolt Action.  Stay tuned!

  1. Great to see you're getting stuff off your list Steve. I seem to have thrown my list out the window completely.

Are those Charles Grant's WW2 rules you are referring to on the lost? Don't think I've tried them - although I always thought that 'Rapid Fire' was based on some older concepts.

    1. Duc,
I only hope I can continue to get things done on the list. "no plan survives first contact with the enemy" and that goes the same for wargaming plans!

Yes they are Charles Grant's rules - the only difference being it's my own sequence of play other than that, I enjoy them very much. They have that simple, playing with toy soldiers feel and still deliver satisfying results.

  2. Good looking games going on. I never ended up making a list for 2014, although I did start the 10 games 10 times project. I wonder where I put that list?
