2018 Focus Hint #2

My last teaser didn't garner too many brave souls, so perhaps this one will jog your collective memories!

Okay if this doesn't do it, I dont know what will.

Why am I having so much fun with this?!?!

  1. The celtic music is throwing me off...I'm tempted to say things like "Braveheart" [the most accurate historical movie ever made] but the flags and your hints make me think of the battle of Bennington, so I'll guess there's a new AWI campaign in the works.

Either that, or your 7YW army is invading the Duchy of Stollen.

    1. Yes you would be correct! Closer to Saratoga but Bennington was part of the Saratoga campaign. Youve broken this case wide open!
Hesperus cannot be beat for early American and Colonial American music!

  2. Steve, I am getting a 'video not available' message when I click on you video (including the YouTube link), yesterday was the same, which might explain the low number of respondents. Is it possible the video has copyright music on it? I have come across that issue before. I am using Windows 10 with an EDGE browser.

    1. Hi Norm,
Interesting it didnt work for you which is a shame. Search on youtube or Google "Hesperus early american / colonial American music" and you should be able to listen!

  3. It did work for me.
It was fun trying out Bennington with your 15s. Count me in for any experiments. Funny, wait'll you see what I was setting up last night...do great minds think alike??

    1. Indeed they do! I will be ramping up the AWI production this year and will be trying to get some good games in as well. Bennington, Hubbardton, Freemans Farm, and Bemis Heights to name a few. There was also plenty of skirmish action to go around in the vicinity of Fort Anne, Oriskany, Lake George. Cant wait!

    2. Fantastic stuff. Our favourite battle to argue about over here. Fitz and I are each 1 for 2 so a decider is on the cards in 2018. Will be excellent to see Freeman's Farm on your blog...and a linked campaign ending in Bemis Heights - love it. I couldn't possibly say a word about General Gates...but my money's on Mr Arnold.

I couldn't open the video either, but the flags gave it away.

Of course, the whole war was started by a bunch of angry Ulster Scots...probably my ancestors. Have I told you this theory yet ;) and the story of the guy who held the flank at Breed's Hill was born just down the road from me (granted, t'was 250 years ago mind you).

    3. Cheers Darren,
Outstanding stuff, mate! Freeman's Farm is one of the best to game. Lots of nail-biting action with "hordes" of Continentals and legions of tough, crack Brits fighting them off. The Saratoga Battles really have a "hornet's nest" feel to them, don't they?

No I haven't heard this story yet! Please do tell! :)
The guy who held the flank at Breed's Hill (the fenceline), was that John Stark?

  4. No it was Ned Stark - wasn't it? And it wasn't hordes of Brits it was hordes of snow monsters!!

    1. That story seems familiar...
