Check This Out...

As promised - here are some mouth-watering photos of our latest creation in the kitchen - chicken shwarma!!

Oh and I'll post some pics of our Gettysburg trip too.  Then my thoughts on 54mm Toy Soldier wargaming AND a very BAD experience at the Gettysburg Toy Soldier Shop.  He's lost my business!  Tune in soon.

I'm sure you're just dying to know what happened there.  Well I promise to post soon.  For now, suffice to say the old man has LOST this guy's business. I'll drive all the way up to my mom's or just online.

Anyone wargame in 54mm?  Just curious.  Would seem that black powder and volley and bayonet are practically made for that nostalgic scale

  1. My friend and I use his 54mm plastics for AWI and Zulu War. We have to recycle the Zulu dead.

    1. John,
I'm seriously considering painting up my 54mm troopers and mounting them for Volley and Bayonet. You can't beat the prices either.

  2. My brother and I used to paint our 54mm plastics and made up our own rules when we were pre-teens. I'll have to post some of the photos (WWII and AWI). The WWII figs turned out nice because we bought Tamiya equipment sprues to make their gear more realistic. We played out some North African battles on the dunes of Duck, NC during a family vacation. Used Lincoln Logs for fortifications for AWI.

    1. Definitely want to see those pics, Cincinnatus. I have many ACW and AWI figs in 54mm and I get nostalgic sometimes for the scale. I think it would be great fun to play a game at that scale.
