The Christmas Offensive: Fast Movers for Fate of a Nation

Last step before "the big game" tomorrow?  Finish off the strike aircraft!  Both sides have a pair of jet fighter-bombers for the battle.  The Israelis have 2 x A-4 Skyhawks and the Egyptians have 2 x Mig-19s which will sub-in for SU-7s.  These are "Luftwaffe 1946" [click] models and were an absolute blast to paint!  (not to mention perfect for the price).
Wings over the Sinai!  (the reader will forgive the blue-tac)

Bases are from Litko

The IAF is out in force hunting Migs!
The canopies are gloss-black, then a layer of VJ "Andrea Blue" then VJ sky blue.

BANDITS TWELVE O CLOCK LOW AT ANGELS TWO!

IAF ambush!

Tomorrow is the big day and all preparations have been made!  The points have been calculated, forces arrayed for battle and we are ready.  My wife is even joining in the fun by baking treats for the antagonists!  I plan on using her good camera for the photos tomorrow.  Stay tuned and watch this space!

Photos of the treats will be required too please - cookies in the shape of HE rounds?

  3. Are you using "bluetack" to (temporarily) join the planes to their stands?

    1. yes - it's unsightly I know but it was all I had at the last minute! It was effective, though, and I like that I can easily change the position of the aircraft.

    2. I actually thought it a rather clever idea - the planes can be stored separate from the flight stands, and you don't need that many stands, either...
