Most of these are quickly spray-painted a coat of green or tan and, most likely, pressed immediately into service!
Now they've found a home at Sound Officer's Call, with some of them flagged for onward movement!
All models are Roskopf and all are practically 1/100 instead of 1/87 as advertised. Believe it or not, I wish I would have bought more, but this pretty much shuts down my purchases for the summer.
1 box additionally went to my Mom's house....
Looks like the Motor Pool at Camp Arifjan! |
Rows and rows of plastic, armored goodness |
Beautiful Leopard IA4s...How much you ask? 2 dollars each. |
Reinforcements for the Central Front! Or the Golan Heights... |
Speaking of the Middle East, meet some of my newest Egyptian Forces. |
Impressive |
FLakpanzer! |
For comparison next to my Command Decision M113s...an almost perfect match! |
The M48 next to my Command Decision M48!! |
Roskopf!! I haven't heard that name in years! Memories of Bloch's Hobby Shop in Allentown and hours of my mis-spent youth,
ReplyDeleteJohn,
DeleteThey're neat little models that actually scale well with my 15mm / 1/100 stuff. For me, it was Mac's Hobby Hall in Bethlehem. I dont know about BLoch's but Mac's is closed now sadly :(
I wouldn't call that mis-spent youth! There were a hundred other, less productive (and downright dangerous or illegal!) things you could have been doing.
Indeed! I remember Mac's as well. Once in a while, I'd find something there among all the die-cast and fish bait.
DeleteMac's was great! I bought my very first 1/72 scale model from there as well as my first paints, and my boy scout pine wood derby wooden block!
DeleteCoincidentally I also bought my first "tub" of nightcrawlers there for fishing with my dad. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world that we kept the worms in the fridge overnight :)
Score! They look great! I love the "Summer of Horse and Musket"TM, more partial to the SYW stuff but it's all good. Happy gaming.
ReplyDeleteSean,
DeleteIt was quite a score I have to admit. And not to worry - the "Summer of Horse & Musket" continues! Next up is Prussian Infantry Regiment 3 (Anhalt) from the SYW. I am converting all of my 20mm to 15mm so it's going to be a long summer for painting! All my SYW and Napoleonic units will be rebuilt in 15mm.
2 main projects center around my Seven Years War collection which I've finally gotten around to starting, and my Napoleonics, which I've started the transition from 20mm plastic to 15mm "lead"
Wow Wow Wow! What a great find!
ReplyDeleteI am visualizing some (even more) MASSIVE battles in the near future.
Enjoy.
Thanks, Ben. I may not have enough space for all these vehicles! But I'll manage :) If I have to take it outside, I'll do that!
DeleteAwesome array of goodness Steven.
ReplyDeleteGreat plan on the distribution of mailing addresses.
Paul,
DeleteIt's a tried and true method for getting reinforcements through the pipeline!
I only found your blog recently, but have enjoyed it! Have a Liebster: http://wargamingwithbarks.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/its-liebster-time-again-ive-been.html
ReplyDeleteThanks, Barks! I'm honored!
DeleteOh, you're just awful! Does HH6 really not know of the distributed delivery scheme? LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat haul of gaming wares. :-)
I think "headhunter 6" probably knows and just lets me think I'm being sneaky.
DeleteYou have no idea. Check the Fidelis site. (2 dollars a vehicle used) The Roskopf stuff is amazing and almost perfect scale. It would clean up nice if you added a bunch of decals and stowage which is what I plan on doing!
